“Just when you’re rising to middle management, your kids need you because they’re teenagers, and that’s the time your husband becomes a teenager too, so he needs you … Your parents need you because they’re ageing. So we’re screwed, we have no hope, we cannot have it all.” Read full story here.
They sound like fighting words to me. Isn't that when your partner needs to pull up their socks and support you? Isn't that when the kids become more independent and reliable to help out more?
Isn't that when the time comes to put yourself FIRST and prioritise so that everything does run to plan?
Get a cleaner so you can wipe the household chores off your to do list and get the kids/hubby helping with the cooking so you don't rush home to be the kitchen slave.
Use a nanny or childcare if the kids are young and you are really determined to make the working mum role rock.
Look into all your options and do what you need to do to make it work for YOU! Don't throw your hands in the air and say nope, we can't have it all. Try. And then try again.
